The free consultation takes about 30 minutes
I book one person at a time with time either side, so nobody gets hurried out to make room for the next appointment.
- You book online. There's no deposit.
- We sit down and you tell me what's brought you in. Then I take a history, including any medications and anything you've had done before.
- I look at your skin and check whether what you're after is suitable for you. If it isn't, I'll tell you why.
- I explain your options and what each one costs, before anything happens.
- You don't have to decide anything on the day. You can book a treatment or go home and think about it, and I'd rather you went home than said yes because saying no felt awkward.

Ask me who trained me
Any nurse should be able to tell you who trained her and when she last did a course, in one breath.
I did four years in emergency before any of this. Taking a history first is a habit from there, and I've kept it.
The other four days of my week are in dermatology, and I'm doing postgraduate dermatology study on top of that, so most of my evenings are skin as well.
I say no when what someone's asking for won't fix what's bothering them.
The specials bother me. You see medical treatments sold with a countdown timer, and before-and-after photos where the after shot just has better lighting. If something needs a nurse and a consultation, it shouldn't be marketed like a clearance sale.

Before you book
Will people be able to tell?
It's the question I get most, even when it arrives as a question about price or downtime. I can't promise how anything will look on you and nobody should. I'd rather do less and see you again than do more on the day.
Is it too early for me to start?
It might be. I say not yet more often than people expect, usually to someone who's 23 and has been told by the internet that she needs to start now. Most people look relieved.
Why aren't all your prices on the website?
The skin ones are. Microneedling for the face is $350, or $900 for a course of three, and the rest are on each treatment's page. Prices for prescription treatments can't be published, so you get those in your consultation, before anything is done.
Can I do the consultation by video?
Yes. It's the same 30 minutes and the same price, which is nothing. If we decide on a treatment, you come in for that.
