Malvern, Melbourne
Stimulate your skin's natural collagen response for improved texture, tone, and overall skin quality. Every session is performed by a registered nurse, starting with a one-on-one consultation.
The consultation is free. You pay on the day of treatment, and only if you go ahead.
Understand the Treatment
Skin needling (also called microneedling) is a minimally invasive treatment that uses a clinical device to create thousands of microscopic channels in the skin's surface. These trigger your skin's natural repair response, stimulating collagen and elastin production beneath the surface.
Results may include improvements in skin texture, tone, and the appearance of pores, fine lines, and mild scarring. Outcomes vary between individuals and depend on skin type, concerns, and the treatment plan recommended during your consultation.
The Process
Your skin's own repair system does the work - we simply activate it.
01
One-on-one with your nurse. Goals, history, skin assessment. We confirm it's right for you before anything else.
02
Your skin is cleansed and a topical numbing cream goes on first, with about 20 minutes to take effect before anything else happens. The needling itself takes around 15 minutes for the face. Most people describe it as mild to moderate discomfort rather than pain. Depth is set to what you can comfortably tolerate, and you can ask to ease off at any point.
03
The SkinPen creates tiny, controlled micro-channels - enough to signal repair, without unnecessary trauma.
04
Fibroblast cells activate and begin producing collagen and elastin - the proteins behind firmness and skin quality.
05
Post-needling, skin absorbs serums more effectively. We apply evidence-based formulations tailored to your concerns.
06
Mild redness for 24-48 hrs. Gradual improvements over weeks as new collagen forms. Skin needling results vary between individuals.
Who It's For
As we age, our skin naturally produces less collagen and elastin - the proteins that support firmness and skin quality. Over time, this can contribute to dullness, uneven texture, enlarged pores, and fine lines.
Microneedling is one option that may support gradual improvements in skin texture and tone, in a conservative, medically guided way. Suitability is always assessed during your consultation.
May help promote a more even, balanced-looking complexion over time.
Can help refine the visible appearance of skin texture and pore size.
May soften the visible appearance of mild atrophic acne scarring.
Supports the appearance of smoother skin as early signs of ageing develop.
May soften the visible appearance of mild scarring and skin irregularities.
Can support the gradual fading of post-inflammatory marks and uneven tone.
Suitability assessed in consultation - results vary.
Clinical Device
We use the SkinPen Precision device - the first FDA-cleared microneedling system, manufactured to medical-device standards. Unlike spa-grade devices, SkinPen is designed for clinical use with sterile single-use cartridges and adjustable depth control for different skin areas and concerns.
The first microneedling system to receive full clinical certification - manufactured to medical-device standards under strict regulatory oversight.
Adjustable depth from 0.25mm to 2.5mm in 0.1mm increments - allows treatment to be customised per skin area and concern.
Cross-contamination is prevented through individually packaged sterile needle cartridges - opened in front of you and disposed after each session.
Built for clinical use rather than home or spa use, with an oscillating motion designed to minimise epidermal trauma during treatment.
Your Nurse
Every microneedling session at Sculpt by Nurses is performed by Hayleigh - a registered nurse with emergency and aesthetic experience. She performs your consultation and your treatment personally.
Her emergency and dermatology nursing background means she's trained to manage the full spectrum of clinical responses - not just the routine ones.
Hayleigh takes a consultation-first, suitability-led approach. Before any treatment, she'll assess your skin, review your medical history, and discuss what microneedling can and can't do for your concerns. If it's not the right treatment for you, she'll tell you - no charge, no obligation.

Courses are arranged with your nurse at your consultation and paid in clinic. There is nothing to pay when you book.
If you're suitable and you'd like to go ahead, your first session can follow your consultation in the same visit.

Common Questions
Most describe mild to moderate discomfort, not pain. Comfort measures are used and intensity is adjusted to your tolerance.
Minimal for most people. Mild redness and warmth for 24-48 hours, similar to a light sunburn. Most clients return to normal activities the same day.
Gentle cleanser and hydration for a few days. Daily SPF. Avoid retinol, AHA/BHA, and makeup for 24-48 hours. Full aftercare provided after your appointment.
Depends on your skin concerns. Some notice improvements after one session; a course of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart is commonly recommended for optimal results.
Not suitable if you have active acne, eczema, or infection in the area, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have certain conditions affecting healing. Reviewed at consultation.
Some early improvements within days. Collagen regeneration continues over weeks. Results are gradual and vary between individuals.
Microneedling is generally not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Hayleigh will review your medical history during consultation and advise on suitability and timing.
Mild redness, warmth, or a sunburn-like sensation for 24-48 hours. As the skin settles, a refreshed appearance is commonly reported in the days that follow, with gradual improvement continuing over weeks. Results vary between individuals.
Often, yes, but timing matters. Hayleigh will plan the spacing between treatments during your consultation so nothing works against anything else.
A single SkinPen session at Sculpt by Nurses in Malvern is $350 for the face, $475 for face and neck, or $575 for face, neck and décolletage. A course of three sessions is $900, $1,200 or $1,500 for the same coverage. LED light therapy is a $49 add-on.
Courses are settled with your nurse in clinic rather than online, so there is no deposit and nothing to pay when you book. If microneedling is not suitable for you, there is no charge.
Skin needling and microneedling are interchangeable terms in Australia - both describe the same clinical treatment. You may also see it called collagen induction therapy (CIT). At Sculpt by Nurses in Malvern, we use the SkinPen Precision device for all skin needling and microneedling sessions. Whether you're searching for skin needling in Malvern or microneedling near you, you'll receive the same FDA-cleared, nurse-led treatment.
Ready when you are
Most clients come in not quite sure what they need - just that their skin could use some support. That's exactly what a consultation is for. We'll guide you from there.
No deposit required - simply book your preferred time and pay on the day. All costs are discussed and confirmed during your consultation before any treatment begins.
