Nurse-led · Malvern · Free consultations
I'm Hayleigh, a registered nurse. If you're thinking about wrinkle reduction for expression lines - forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet - the first step is a free consultation with me. I do every consultation and every treatment myself, and not every consultation ends in treatment.
Consultation first
As we age, the expressions we make most - raising the brows, frowning, smiling - start to leave lines behind even when the face is at rest: forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, crow's feet at the corners of the eyes. That's completely normal, and plenty of people are happy to leave them alone.
If you're not, wrinkle reduction is a prescription treatment for exactly those expression lines, and it's what most people come to see me about. Because it's prescription-only, everything starts with a consultation: I look at how your face moves, ask what's bothering you and what you'd like to keep, and tell you honestly whether treatment makes sense - which sometimes means suggesting less than you came in for, or nothing at all.
My approach is conservative by design. The aim is that you look rested and like yourself, not different - and "not yet" is a perfectly respectable answer.
Suitability assessed in consultation - results vary.

Your Nurse
I'm a registered nurse, and I've spent the last three years as a cosmetic nurse alongside four days a week in dermatology nursing. Every consultation and every treatment at Sculpt by Nurses is done by me - you won't be handed to someone you haven't met.
Before that I spent four years in emergency nursing, which is where you learn facial anatomy at a clinical level and how to manage the full range of responses, not just the routine ones. Dermatology keeps me working in skin every week.
I'm consultation-first and suitability-led. Before treatment is even discussed I go through your concerns and your medical history and tell you whether any option is appropriate - including none. No pressure, no targets, no obligation.

Areas
Suitability for each area is assessed in your consultation. We'll work out together which areas, if any, are worth treating - and whether treatment is appropriate at all.
Horizontal lines from raising the eyebrows - often the first thing people notice in photos. Assessed individually.
Vertical lines between the brows, sometimes called the 11s. They can make you look concerned or tired when you're neither.
Fine lines fanning out from the outer corners of the eyes. One of the areas I'm asked about most.
Jaw clenching, teeth grinding and a tense or heavy-feeling lower face are usually what bring this up. Assessed individually.
Less common areas
Orbicularis oris
Fine vertical lines above the upper lip and around the mouth. The anatomy here varies a lot between people, so it's assessed individually.
Frontalis & glabellar
A heavy or low-sitting brow that makes the eyes look tired. Whether anything is worth doing depends on your anatomy and brow position.
Levator labii / DAO
When the upper lip lifts high enough to show a lot of gum when you smile. Highly individual - assessed in consultation.
Mentalis
A puckered or orange-peel texture across the chin, usually noticed in photos. Discussed alongside the chin and jaw as a whole.
Nasalis
Fine lines across the bridge of the nose that show when you smile or scrunch. Discussed if relevant.
Periocular region
Fine lines directly beneath the lower lashes, sometimes called the jelly roll. A high-risk anatomical area - assessed individually and with extra care.
Platysma
The vertical cords that show when the neck is tensed or with age. Assessed individually.
Trapezius
Tightness across the tops of the shoulders, and the shape that comes with it. Discussed for comfort as much as appearance.
Other anatomical areas may be discussed during consultation. Suitability for any treatment is always assessed individually.
Your Appointment
01
We sit down one-on-one, in person or by video. I ask what's bothering you, go through your medical history, and explain what treatment would involve for you - including whether I think it's appropriate at all.
There is no obligation to proceed, and the consultation is free either way. If it's not right for you, I'll say so.
02
If treatment is appropriate and you want to go ahead, it can happen at the same visit or on another day - your call, and there's no pressure either way. Before anything starts I go through consent, what to expect on the day and what to do afterwards, in detail.
A prescribing doctor is involved before your first treatment, as required by Australian regulations - arranged through the clinic.
03
You leave with written aftercare instructions and the clinic's contact details. After a first treatment I book a follow-up review at two weeks, so I can see how you've responded and answer anything that's come up.
Whether and when you come back is a conversation at your review, not a rebooking target.
Important Information
Wrinkle reduction treatments are clinical procedures that involve prescription medicines. All clinical procedures carry some level of risk. Below is an overview of considerations - I'll go through these with you in detail during your consultation, in the context of your individual situation.
Common Temporary Effects
Mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or small bruising in the treated areas is common and typically settles within several days. Some people experience a temporary mild headache. Most clients return to normal activities the same day.
Less Common Effects
Some people may experience temporary asymmetry as the treatment settles, ptosis (drooping of the eyelid or brow), or unintended muscle relaxation in adjacent areas. These effects are typically temporary and resolve as the treatment wears off. In rare cases, more serious complications can occur - your nurse will discuss these with you in detail before any treatment.
Suitability & Contraindications
Wrinkle reduction is not suitable for everyone. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, neuromuscular conditions, certain infections in the area, allergies to specific ingredients, or specific medications may mean treatment isn't recommended. Suitability is assessed individually during your consultation, and in some cases, the appropriate outcome is no treatment.
All wrinkle reduction treatments at Sculpt by Nurses involve prescription medicines and require prescribing oversight. A consultation is required before any treatment.
A medical condition
Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) is a recognised medical condition that can affect daily life - work, social interactions, and confidence. Common areas include the underarms, hands, and feet.
If you've been managing excessive sweating, a consultation can help you understand whether treatment options may be appropriate. Where treatment is appropriate, it is prescription-based and performed by me following consultation.

Common Questions
Wrinkle reduction is a prescription treatment for expression lines - the lines that form from repeated movement, like frown lines, forehead lines and crow's feet. Because it's prescription-only, it always starts with a consultation. At Sculpt by Nurses in Malvern, every consultation and every treatment is done by me, Hayleigh, a registered nurse. Suitability assessed in consultation - results vary, and not every consultation ends in treatment.
Yes, and it's free. Two things happen before any first treatment: a consultation with me, and a consultation with a prescribing doctor - in person or by telehealth - because these are prescription medicines under Australian law. The second one is arranged through the clinic.
Nothing. Consultations are free, in person or virtual, with no deposit and no obligation to go ahead. If treatment is appropriate, I go through the costs with you during the consultation, before you decide anything. Treatment pricing isn't published because it depends on what's assessed as suitable for you.
No - most of the people I see are here for the first time. You don't need to know what you want, use the right words or have decided anything. Bring your questions. Working it out together is what the consultation is for.
That worry is the reason I do things the way I do. My approach is conservative by design: the aim is that you look rested and like yourself, not different, and we agree on exactly what you want before anything is decided. If you'd rather start with less, or wait, that's a perfectly good answer.
It's the most common question I'm asked, and I'd rather answer it properly in person than with a line on a website. In your consultation I'll tell you exactly what to expect, what I do to keep you comfortable, and you can decide from there.
Then I'll tell you. Pregnancy, breastfeeding, some medical conditions and some medications mean treatment isn't recommended, and sometimes the right outcome is no treatment at all. The consultation is free either way, and you'll leave knowing where you stand.
It varies from person to person, so I'll give you a realistic picture for you in the consultation rather than a number on a website. Whether and when you come back is something we decide together at your review - I don't put people on a schedule.
What the rest of your day looks like afterwards, and anything to avoid, is part of what I cover in your consultation. If timing matters - an event, a trip - tell me before you book and I'll work around it.
Yes. A virtual consultation covers the same ground as an in-person one - your concerns, your medical history and whether treatment is worth discussing - and it's free. If treatment is appropriate, that happens in person at the Malvern clinic.
