Nurse-led · Malvern · Aspect Professional peels
Chemical peels in Malvern.
I'm Hayleigh, a registered nurse, and I run two Aspect Professional peels at the clinic: the Lactobotanical Peel, a gentle hydrating peel you can book straight in for, and the Triple Action Peel, a resurfacing peel that starts with a free consultation and two weeks of priming. Every peel is done by me, and I'll tell you honestly which one suits you - or whether a peel is the right idea at all.

How I use peels
Progressive, not aggressive
Aspect Professional describes its peels as progressive, not aggressive, and that is exactly how I use them. A peel lifts the dull, tired layer the skin is holding onto. The right strength for you depends on what your skin can take and what you want from it - not on what sounds impressive.
So I run two. The Lactobotanical Peel is the introduction: gentle, hydrating, thirty minutes, no priming and no downtime. The Triple Action Peel is the step up: a resurfacing peel for fine lines, texture and pigmentation, with two weeks of priming first and some flaking after.
Most people start with the Lactobotanical. Some stay there - it's a lovely peel to repeat every fortnight - and some move up to the Triple Action once their skin is ready. Either way, you get me, not a menu.

The two peels
Lactobotanical or Triple Action
Two peels from one supplier, chosen so the step between them is a real step. Here is what each one is, what it feels like and how it's booked.
Level 1 · 30 minutes · no downtime
Lactobotanical Peel
$129 · course of three $349 · add LED $49
A gentle lactic acid peel. Aspect Professional pairs L-lactic acid, a hydrating AHA, with Canadian Willowherb, a calming antioxidant, so the peel exfoliates while the skin stays comfortable. It suits every skin type and every skin tone, and dry, dull or dehydrated skin especially. In the supplier's words: gentle hydrating exfoliation, smoother texture, a refined appearance, and over a course, an improvement in the look of fine lines and dark pigmented areas.
- In the chair: about 30 minutes. The peel sits on the skin for one to five minutes and is neutralised the moment it has done its work.
- Afterwards: no downtime. You may be a little pink for an hour or so and feel a touch sensitive for a day or two.
- How often: every two weeks if you're doing a course - the supplier recommends six to twelve.
- Priming: none. Book straight in.
- LED: add twenty minutes under the light panel for $49.
Level 3 · 30 minutes plus LED · mild flaking
Triple Action Peel
$179 with LED included · course of three $479 · course of six $899
A resurfacing peel that works on three fronts: Lanablue, a blue-green algae extract with a retinoid-like action; L-lactic acid for exfoliation; and niacinamide with Canadian Willowherb to keep the skin hydrated and comfortable while it works. Aspect Professional positions it for fine lines, wrinkles and pigmentation. It suits all skin types and tones with the right priming, which is why it starts with a consultation.
- Before: a free consultation, where I check your skin, patch test the peel and set you up on two weeks of priming skincare.
- In the chair: about fifty minutes. The peel sits on the skin for up to twenty minutes, then twenty minutes of LED.
- Afterwards: mild flakiness, usually days three to seven, mostly around the mouth and chin first. Done by about day ten.
- How often: monthly - the supplier recommends six to twelve. Courses of three and six below.
- Priming: two weeks minimum, on the serums I prescribe at your consultation.
Choosing
Which peel is for you
Start with the Lactobotanical if
- it's your first peel
- your skin is dry, dull or dehydrated
- you have something on in the next week or two
- you'd rather not prime, or peel
Step up to the Triple Action if
- fine lines, texture or pigmentation are the concern
- you've had a peel before, here or elsewhere
- you're happy to prime for two weeks and flake for a few days
- you're ready for a course
Book a free consultation if
- you're not sure - this is the most common answer
- you have rosacea, eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis
- you use prescription skincare
- you're pregnant or breastfeeding
- your skin is a deeper tone - I prime deeper skin tones with a pigment serum first, and I'd rather see you before we choose
LED light therapy
Included with the Triple Action. $49 with the Lactobotanical. $85 on its own.
Twenty minutes under an LED light panel - warm, quiet, no downtime. I include it in every Triple Action visit because it is a comfortable way to finish a resurfacing peel, and you can add it to a Lactobotanical or book it on its own.

Your appointment
What happens
A Lactobotanical visit
-
01
Cleanse and check
I cleanse, look at your skin and check nothing has changed since you booked. If a peel isn't right that day, I'll say so and we'll do something gentler, or nothing at all.
-
02
The peel
It goes on with gauze and sits for one to five minutes. You'll feel a tingle, sometimes a little warmth. I watch the skin the whole time and neutralise the moment it's done.
-
03
Finish
A hydrating serum, a calming balm and a physical SPF 50+. If you've added LED, that's twenty minutes lying under the panel. Then you go back to your day.
The Triple Action journey
-
01
Free consultation
We talk through what you want, I check your skin, patch test the peel on a small area and set you up on the priming routine. If you're better suited to the Lactobotanical, that's what I'll say.
-
02
Two weeks of priming
The serums I prescribe - an AHA, a vitamin A and, for some skin tones, a pigment serum - prepare the skin so the peel works evenly and recovers faster. I'll tell you when to stop the vitamin A before your peel.
-
03
The peel, then LED
About fifty minutes. The peel goes on with gloved fingertips and sits for up to twenty minutes - it can feel warm for the first few - then comes off with water, followed by twenty minutes of LED and a physical SPF 50+.
-
04
The days after
You go home with your aftercare sheet. Expect a flush on day one, tightness on day two and light flaking from around day three, mostly around the mouth and chin. It's usually done by day ten, and your next peel is a month later.
Your nurse
Hayleigh - Registered Nurse
I'm a registered nurse, and I've spent the last three years as a cosmetic nurse alongside four days a week in dermatology nursing. Every peel at Sculpt by Nurses is done by me - you won't be handed to someone you haven't met.
I trained and accredited on the Aspect Professional peel range in 2026, and the clinic stocks Aspect Dr for home care, so the peel, the priming and what you use afterwards are one system rather than three guesses.
I'm consultation-first and suitability-led. If your skin isn't ready for the peel you came in for, I'll say so - and "not yet" is a perfectly good answer.

The full sheet comes home with you. This is the part people ask about most.
The first 72 hours - both peels
- Physical sunscreen only - zinc oxide or titanium dioxide. No chemical sunscreens until day four.
- No vitamin A, AHAs, BHAs, scrubs or strongly fragranced products.
- No exercise, hot showers or saunas on the day.
- Don't pick, scratch or pull at anything that flakes.
The first week
- Stay out of the sun, and keep the SPF 50+ on.
- No shaving over the treated area.
- No prescription cosmetic treatments in the area for a week - if you're planning one, tell me and we'll sequence it.
Two to four weeks
- No waxing, hair removal, hair dye or other peels for two weeks.
- No laser, IPL or needling for four weeks.
What the Triple Action looks like, day by day
- Straight after: no flaking to light flaking. Skin may feel sensitive for a day or two.
- Day one: flushed, possibly a little red.
- Day two: tight and dry.
- Days three to seven: light peeling, starting around the mouth and chin and moving outward.
- Days seven to ten: the last light flaking around the edges of the face. Once it stops, your actives can go back in.

Suitability
When I'll say no
Peels are not for everyone, and the rule I work to is the one the supplier teaches: if in doubt, leave it out. I won't peel you if any of the first list applies, and I'll want to talk first if anything in the second does.
I'll say no
- Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) in the last six to twelve months
- Active cold sores, infection or an angry breakout in the area
- Broken, sunburnt or freshly waxed skin
- A history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- Significant immunosuppression, or a collagen vascular disease
- Medications that make the skin sun-sensitive
- Anything in the area that hasn't been diagnosed
We'll talk first
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding - only with your doctor's clearance, and I'll usually suggest waiting
- Rosacea, eczema, dermatitis or psoriasis
- Prescription retinoids
- Diabetes, autoimmune conditions or anything that slows healing
- Laser, needling, other peels or cosmetic treatments in the area in the last month
- Deeper skin tones, which I prime with a pigment serum first
Suitability assessed in consultation - results vary.
Common questions
Questions people ask before they book
What's the difference between the two peels?
The Lactobotanical is the gentle one: lactic acid, hydrating, thirty minutes, no priming, no downtime, and you can book straight in. The Triple Action is the step up: a resurfacing peel with a retinoid-like action that needs two weeks of priming first and gives you a few days of light flaking after, with LED included in the visit. If you're new to peels, start with the Lactobotanical.
Does a chemical peel hurt?
A tingle, and with the Triple Action some warmth for the first few minutes - I'd call both mild. I'm watching your skin and asking how it feels the whole time, and the Lactobotanical is neutralised the moment it reaches its end point. If anything feels more than mild, it comes off.
Will I actually peel?
Not after a Lactobotanical - you might be a little pink for an hour. After a Triple Action, expect light flaking from around day three, mostly around the mouth and chin first, finishing by about day ten. It's flaking rather than sheets, and mineral powder covers it.
Can I go back to work afterwards?
Yes, after either. After a Lactobotanical there's nothing to hide. After a Triple Action you'll be fine the same day, and the flaking on days three to seven is the part to plan around if you have something on.
How many peels will I need?
The supplier recommends six to twelve, fortnightly for the Lactobotanical and monthly for the Triple Action. I'd rather you did three and saw what your skin does than committed to twelve on day one, which is why the courses are three and six.
How do I start the Triple Action?
Book a free consultation. I check your skin, patch test the peel on a small area and set you up on two weeks of priming skincare. When the two weeks are up, you book the peel itself.
Do I have to buy skincare?
Not for the Lactobotanical. For the Triple Action, the two weeks of priming are prescribed at your consultation and are part of doing it properly. After either peel, a physical SPF 50+ every day is the one thing I won't bend on.
Can I have a peel if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?
Only with your doctor's written clearance, and even then I'll usually suggest waiting. The consultation is free, so come and talk it through.
Can I have a peel before an event?
A Lactobotanical, yes - up to a couple of days before. A Triple Action, no - leave at least ten days between the peel and the event so the flaking is done, and ideally have your first one well before.
What about my retinol and other actives?
Stop vitamin A products three to five days before a peel, and keep all actives off for the first seventy-two hours after. Restart when the skin has settled - straight away for a Lactobotanical, and once the flaking has stopped for a Triple Action, usually day seven to ten.
Can I add LED to a Lactobotanical Peel?
Yes - $49, and it adds twenty minutes under the panel. It's already included with every Triple Action, and you can book it on its own for $85.
Is the consultation free, and where are you?
Free, in person or virtual, no deposit. Ground Floor, 1 Como Street, Malvern VIC 3144 - two minutes from Malvern Station, easy from Armadale, Toorak, Glen Iris and Prahran. By appointment only.
